Access to clean Water
Access to clean Water
Nearly 70 percent of households in Arid and Semi-Arid areas of Kenya lack sufficient water (Watsan mission). Areas such as Isiolo and Marsabit face low rainfall, drought and acute water shortage where women trek long distance to water points and are susceptible to poor sanitation. Provision for sustainable access to safe and sufficient water for households, schools, and communities is essential. This program ensures that communities have reliable, safe and sustainable water sources.
Our intervention:
- Enable communities in Arid and Semi-Arid Land (ASAL) areas and urban settlement have access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) by building cisterns, rain water harvesting system, digging wells, drilling boreholes, providing storage tanks, water purifiers, pipes, solar water pumps and hand pumps.
